Tips

  • Text PDFs convert best

A PDF made from a document converts cleanly. A scan is a picture of text, so run the OCR tool first.

  • Only changing a few words?

Editing the text directly in the PDF keeps the original layout exactly, with no conversion at all.

Questions

Will the layout be exactly the same?

Simple documents come out very close. Complex layouts with many columns or text boxes may need a little tidying in Word.

Is my file uploaded?

Conversion needs a server. The file is encrypted in transit, processed, and deleted right after.

Can I convert a scanned PDF?

A scan has no real text, so use the PDF OCR tool to read the text first.
